Our President

Karina Villada Zepeda – President of Migrant Journeys is a community organizer originally from Mexico who has made Vancouver, Canada her home in recent years. Since her arrival, she has worked tirelessly to advocate for the rights of migrant communities, with a particular focus on improving access to healthcare for pregnant women in vulnerable situations.

Karina has been a leading voice in efforts to ensure that undocumented migrants can receive medical care in hospitals, building on years of grassroots organizing aimed at expanding equitable access to healthcare.

She currently serves as President of Migrant Journeys (Travesías Migrantes), an organization that brings together numerous migrant families across Vancouver and other regions of British Columbia. Through her leadership, the organization works to strengthen the political and social advocacy of migrant communities, ensuring their voices are heard in the spaces where decisions impacting their lives are made.
